![]() I made this cute Lost Tooth Certificate from the Tooth Fairy that I’d love to share with you. And, with the pillow tied in a special spot…also assures it will always be ready for the Tooth Fairy!! The pocket assures there is no tooth getting lost after going to bed. Now you have a special pillow for your little one when they pull out their tooth. Hand stitch the area (between the ribbons) after filling with stuffing. This part does not really need to be fancy. I had my Easton help with the whole process…because the Tooth Fairy was coming any day for his first tooth! Start stuffing it with cotton stuffing until it’s filled enough for feel. (It is still on after 1 1/2 of use! Besides, it is tied onto the bed, it’s not a toy pillow…it’s a Tooth Pillow!) That’s right, pull out the glue gun and glue the “symbol” onto the pocket. I cut out the (front) fabric scrap piece to add more pizazz onto the already sewn on pocket. Leave between the ribbons undone to stuff. Turn pillow inside out…įold over the fabric to form a seam on top of the ribbon to finish sewing together. Leave the top middle part of the pillow and near the ribbons undone. Then face both fabrics together (looks inside out) and sew 1/4″ all along the edges of the sides, bottom and the 2″ before the ribbon. Sew ribbon onto the backside of the (front) pillow fabric, starting 2″ from the outer edge. (My straight pins were done holding it into place and I just pinned them off to the side…as to not confuse you.)Ĭut and divide your wide ribbon in half, one for each side. Go around and finish sewing the pocket with the rest of the second row of straight stitch. And a second row of straight stitch on the open part of the pocket, before you start to sew onto the front side of the (front) pillow side. Sew the pocket seams on all pressed four sides with a straight stitch. (I know, I’m obviously not too worried about burning my craft table.) Iron and press the seams of the pocket before sewing. And 1 1/2 yards of 1 1/2″-2″ wide ribbon. For the tooth pocket, cut a piece of fabric (the same as the back fabric) 4″ x 3″. (Unless you do all in the same fabric, 1/4 yard is just fine for the whole pillow.) Cut 11″x 9″. You’ll need 1/4 yard of each kind design of fabric. (And the front pocket is made with the same back fabric.) I chose 2 different patterned fabrics– back and front. This is simple for any beginner! Here is my version, easy step by step tutorial… I’ll remind you that I am NOT a professional seamstress…I don’t use patterns. I want to show you how simple it is to sew a Tooth Fairy pillow for your little one or someone you know. ![]() My middle son Gatlon was needing some fast cash for something and pulled yanked a (loose) molar with needle nose pliers! And, my Easton LOVES precious tiny stuffed animals…so the Tooth Fairy brings those instead of cash/coins. (15 years apart!) Every child is different…at least all my boys are from each other! My Levi was content with the coin(s) for a lost tooth left in a baggie, placed under his pillow. ![]() In fact, it’s a lot different from when my older son Levi was little, compared with my youngest. The Tooth Fairy does different things in all the different homes around. She’d come in the middle of the night and replace it with a coin.Įven though my older boys are long gone with loosing their baby teeth, I still have a younger one that is popping them out like popcorn! When I was a little girl, I’d put my lost tooth into the pocket of my pink Tooth Fairy pillow. ![]()
