![]() The last of Grimora's skeletons is named Royal Dominguez, a pirate skeleton wearing what appears to be an eyepatch that's blocking the top right room with two caskets. Kaycee Hobbes is a recurring character mentioned in every act of Inscryption and was apparently one of the developers of the mysterious game before her disappearance, which likely has some connection to the OLD_DATA that players learn about throughout this act. Players can also fish a Drowned Soul card from this well if they click on it again. Her gravestone is the one on the left, and the remaining two pieces of her epitaph read "Hit by a falling piece of ice" and "The defibrillator failed." The first of these can be found in the left casket in the room in the top right corner, and players can fish the other from the well in the room behind Kaycee. She uses ice-themed Draugr cards as well, and she'll give players the piece of an epitaph that says "Kaycee Hobbes 1970 - Winter 1992" when they beat her. The left gravestone belongs to the skeleton blocking the well, named Kaycee Hobbes, and has a chunk of ice sticking out of her skull. After collecting and arranging all nine epitaph pieces in their correct spots on the grave markers, players will finally be able to challenge Grimora and beat one of Act II's four bosses. By defeating them and speaking to them, players can piece together their causes of death and figure out which epitaph pieces belong to which skeleton. Not only are the skeletons the owners of these graves, but they will also talk a bit about how they died, which will give players a clue about the contents of the rest of their epitaph.Įach of the three skeletons in Grimora's realm in Act II of Inscryption corresponds to one of the gravestones that block players from facing Grimora. Some of the pieces can be found on the ground, but others must be claimed by defeating the three skeletons in the room. However, these grave markers are missing their epitaphs, and it's up to the player to find all 9 epitaph pieces and arrange them correctly to solve the puzzle to face Grimora. Once players enter Grimora's domain, they'll find that she's sealed away in a room behind three grave markers. Grimora's domain is in the bottom right corner of the world and is shaped like a skeletal hand with a mausoleum on its wrist. ![]() After that point, the remaining Scrybes can be challenged in any order. Once one of them is defeated, the broken bridge in the center of the world will be fixed, allowing players to face P03 and Magnificus. Players can choose to face either her or Leshy first. The fight against Grimora during the Finale presumably takes place in the Temple of the Dead as it is being deleted.Grimora is the Scrybe of the Dead, one of the first two Scrybes that players can challenge in this act, along with Leshy, Scrybe of Beasts, whose cabin returns from Act I. If the key was received from the Bone Lord in Act II, this door is unlocked for an easter egg. The interior of the building is laid out similarly, with an interactable well to the west and a locked door to the east. The Uberbot of the area is The Archivist. Giving the Bone Lord the Ancient Obol allows the player to head down further to a mysterious giant corpse, where the Bone Lord will give them the Bone Lord's Horn, a key for use in Act III, and the Femur of the Bone Lord.īotopia has an area inspired by Grimora's domain in the southeast area, referred to as Filthy Corpse World. The mirror room contains a mirror the player can walk through to randomly change their avatar, and the basement contains the Bone Lord. On the east side of the room is the stairs to the basement, guarded by Sawyer Patel, and the northern path to the mirror room, blocked by Royal Dominguez. The west side of the room also has a path to the Trader. They stand in front of a well, which can be interacted with to receive the Drowned Soul. In the west side of the room is the skeleton NPC named after Kaycee Hobbes. The three pieces of each gravestone must be found and put in their proper places in order to access her. Grimora is in the center of the room, with three gravestones in front of her. ![]() The Temple of the Dead is one of the first two Temples that are available, along with the Temple of Beasts.
